The East Carolina women's cross country team finished fifth and the men placed sixth at Appalachian State University's Blue Ridge Invitational on Friday afternoon.

The East Carolina men's and women's cross country teams will travel to western North Carolina to compete in Appalachian State University's Blue Ridge Invitational in Boone on Friday, Oct. 17.

The East Carolina men's and women's cross country teams completed their respective gold races at the 41st annual Paul Short Run at Lehigh University on Saturday morning.

The East Carolina men's and women's cross country teams each earned third-place finishes in their respective 5K races in Friday's Wolfpack/Adidas Invitational at the WakeMed Cross Country Course.

Following a three-week hiatus between meets, the East Carolina men's and women's cross country teams will compete for the second time in 2014 on Friday, Sept. 19 at NC State's Wolfpack Invitational in Cary, N.C.

Behind a quintet of top-40 finishers, the East Carolina women's cross country team earned a fourth-place finish, while the men's team took eighth at the season-opening Covered Bridge Invitational Friday evening.

The signing class is made up of 10 men and seven women, two of which are transfers and one that is an international student. The Pirates add 14 freshmen, two sophomores and one junior to the roster for the 2014-15 season.

Tynita Butts represented East Carolina well as she turned in a Top-5 showing at the 2014 USA Track and Field (USATF) Outdoor National Championships on Sunday.
