The East Carolina track and field team competed at the Raleigh Relays over the weekend and went up against cold and windy conditions, but still came away with a number of personal record times.

East Carolina hurdler Xavier Brown took home the American Athletic Conference Men's Track and Field Athlete of the Week award for the first time in his career it was announced by the league office Tuesday.

Freshman Xavier Brown recorded a pair of event wins as he helped lead the East Carolina track and field team to a positive showing at the 49er Classic in Charlotte. As a team, the Pirates won three events as senior Henry Johnson won the men's pole vault.

The Pirates head to Charlotte, N.C., to compete in the 49er Classic beginning Friday, March 20 and concluding Saturday, March 21.

East Carolina junior Avion Jones turned in the best postseason performance of his collegiate career at the 2015 NCAA Division I Men's & Women's Track and Field Indoor Championships Saturday. His Top 10 finish garnered him First Team All-America accolades.
